The Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) through the Project Implementation Unit (PMU) of the Andhra Pradesh Disaster Recovery Project (APDRP) with financial support from the World Bank entrusted RMSI Private Limited, India in 2019 to carry out this analytical study of conducting a multi hazard risk assessment for the state of AP.

The objective of this assignment was to carry out hazard risk assessment to enable GoAP in formulating risk reduction plans and strategies. The key outcomes of the study include analytical results in the form of reports, capacity building of state officials, and the development of RISAP and an Integrated Operating Forecasting System (IOFS). The IOFS will help the state provide early warnings on impending hydro-meteorological disasters to disaster risk managers and agencies, and the community at large.

RISAP is a web-GIS tool developed on the World Bank's GeoNode platform and extends it to support all the functionality needed for Disaster Risk Management (DRM), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and preparedness planning activities.

RISAP is designed as a centralized database, which organizes all base data (administrative boundaries), exposure data (population and all assets of the State), hazard scenarios of all key natural hazards impacting the State and their risk related information (in terms of potential economic direct losses and affected population and casualties).
